Spreading of virus which makes files hidden and freezes the comp/laptop is getting very wide spread. Most of the virus is spreading thru pen drives and external harddisks.
I had to help one of my fellow office colleague today. Her husband is a big shot in IT area but he’s in a faraway land studying so she sough my help.
Her laptop had both kavo.exe and amvo.exe varient virus. Her symantec virus definition was outdated so it didn’t detect it. The Folder options doesn’t work due to virus.
A simple application called general removal tool removed the virus and fixed the laptop in seconds.
Hope this virus removal / remover helps anyone else having this. Keep it in ur desktop just in case.

Advice:
Best method to check if ur friend’s pen or HDD got virus is enabling showing the ‘hidden files and folders’ in the file option, check ’show system files’ also Then type on the ‘Run’ command the drive of the removable media(pen/HDD). That is example

That way the autorun.inf wont run the virus and you can check if any virus exists.
There is a small app that can disable all kinds of removable media so that autorun.inf work and virus wont be unintentionally executed.

CCTC or Cyryx Computer training Centre. Its been 2 months since I got my certificate accredited from MAB. I would like to share my views of CCTC while I had Dip in IT there.
The rants from www.lastport.blogspot.com lead me to this post. I fully agree with Shaamil. It sucks big time in CCTC.
Shaamil had to wait 6 months to get Dip in IT certificate. I had to wait 9 months, The course was complete with additional 6 months. If Course cordinator stalin left, the whole place would be in a really big mess. He’s the only one who is holding cyryx together. The place is managed inefficiently. Due to high labour turnover of cyryx, the students has to suffer as classes are cancelled. No lecturer would want to stay in that place for more than a year. The syllabus consisted of “anzamaanuge”, outdated subjects. Cyryx is good to handover advice for late payments and student absent notice, the computer systems are good and tests are a piece of cake( as no lecturer around,uh mm), 50% discount from APIIT, its a student oriented centre. But I have to advice NOT to JOIN cyryx for any Diploma course if you want to learn any stuff but to get a easy certificate, then be my guest, as there is no better alternatives to waste your time and Rf24000. From the facebook cyryx group, I have seen many students complaining.
I’m now opting to join Villa college for bachelor in IT for Rf75,000, but waiting for first batch to finish so can find out if its worth it.

There’s a nagging virus which hides the hidden files and folders (the system files too), its in every comp of office, home and also couple of my friends comps & laps (even in cyryx).
Its been spreading thru pen drives n external HDD.
Kaspersky havnt detected this virus till today so Im having to manually remove them all these days. Eventually I have found a tool that removes this so just wanna post it here coz its hard to find from googling.

My Office is getting a new package from Dhiraagu that gives the members in the group to talk to each other for free 24/7. There is no info of it on dhiraagu website, package called “closed user group”. well, not really free but have to pay Mrf75 per month. Also can take additinal number(biteh, spouse etc) to join the group, that makes 150 bucks. Office guys holding onto wataniya is willing to give their free numbers from the package thus it rocks,hehe
