After longtime waiting for the release of soft unlock for Apple iphone 3G, it has finally happened last night. Around yesterday evening Dev-team released the yellowsn0w 0.9 and 0.9.1 , which was not compatible, there were lots of comments from across the world to the Dev site that those versions didn’t work well but the latest version of 0.9.4 does work for lots of service providers, and is compatible to use the service providers of Maldives, namely Dhiraagu & Wataniya Maldives. I have tested both providers without any problem. Can make and receive calls, also use sms.

Those who are already using turbo sim, throw it away and upgrade to firmware 2.2.

Its a happy day for lots of people who use Apple iphone 3G.Apple iphone 3G

Thanks Dev Team

update:

This is how it worked for me.
Experienced that timing is crucial for unlock to work.

step 1 :    upgrade to newest yellowsn0w, and put your dhiraagu sim in the sim tray
next, from settings > reset > reset network
Step 2:    it will automatically reboot
wait for home screen
when  you see the icons, look at a clock and count for the 60 seconds.
after 60th second open the sim tray and after 2 sec insert again.
it should work in about 10  to 20 sec waiting,

if it doesnt wait further 1 min and enable flight mode. wait 10 sec and disable. It does trigger to activate.

Altenate method
anotherway is if above method doesnt work installing bosspref and disable the applications found there and use reboot option of it. Pls reinstall the latest yellowsn0w before attempting again.(my way)
continue as step 2

I did not have any probs as losing network for the whole day but as its still in beta, do attempt with caution and patience.

Hope it helps, Im using iphone 3g on Dhiraagu while my bro is using wataniya.

Pls leave comment if there is any alternative working method
